Robert Brown Design

The "Compound-mitred Trestle Table" is also known as "Shibumi Table", the Japanese word for "elegant simplicity". It was designed to display my on-going interest in form defined by structure, materiality and process. The understructure displays a visual tension or visual anomaly. This contrast in perception by using elements and joinery that represents the opposite. The table is made of California Black Walnut with marble wedges to secure the tusk tenons of the trestle bar.
